Digital tops Traditional in Healthcare Marketing

According to a new report from Accys, by 2013 digital marketing will top traditional marketing for healthcare. This is great news for us interactive people but not so much for the conventional marketers out there!

From a consumer point of view we have seen massive changes in online marketing and finally healthcare is undergoing an experiential marketing evolution of its own. Interactive marketing is coming of age and is finally seeing budget and effort quotas. For those of you who read this blog, I’m sure you will agree …  its about time!

A new report from Acsys “Insights Into Action” summarizes key survey findings from 100+ hospital marketers on emerging marketing topics, including social media and mobile.


The report predicts that by 2013 digital and traditional marketing will flip-flop in terms of importance.

Here is a brief overview of the New Health Trends ::

  1. Two-thirds of hospital marketers say Facebook is an effective social media channel.
  2. Among large hospitals, 40% say online will be the core focus of marketing by 2013.
  3. Almost 80% of hospitals will invest in mobile health in the next 2 years.

A large percentage of people use internet to find their needs. Most have joined social sites and this makes it easier to reach a larger group quickly when conducting marketing campaign. This makes digital campaign the way to go.
