Online search is important to local business. 56% of consumers use search engines to locate nearby business yet 50% of these businesses have not updated their online listing, according to a study from ConstantContact last year. This big mistake has massive effects on the company’s brand.

Research from Placeable shows us the extent of the damage this has caused brands with 73% of consumers surveyed said they lose trust in a brand when the online listing shows incorrect information.

Source :: Placeable surveyed more than 1,000 consumers and marketers in February and March 2014 through an online survey. Responses were collected from both male and female respondents, ages 18 and up, in the US. Responses were random, voluntary and anonymous.
