The evolution of Google’s logo

The new logo comes not long after a corporate restructuring that turned Google into a sub brand of a new parent company, Alphabet.

The announcement said the “simple, uncluttered, colorful, friendly” logo better reflects the different ways people interact with Google on their smartphones, watches, TVs, cars, or desktop computers.


The YouTube video announcing the news of a new logo stated that “Google has changed a lot over the past 17 years — from the range of our products to the evolution of their look and feel … and today we’re changing things up once again.”

This logo evolution is the first big change delivered under new Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
